Irritable Bowel Syndrome

IBS is a common digestive condition that affects up to 20% of people at some time in their life. The symptoms include stomach cramps, bloating, diarrhoea and/or constipation, excessive wind, and an urgent need to go to the toilet - even if you have just been.

You should of course see your doctor if these symptoms persist. But a diagnosis of IBS means that you doctor has ruled out more serious conditions. IBS by itself does not pose a serious threat to your health.

However IBS can be painful and debilitating and have a seriously negative impact on your quality of life. IBS is unpredictable. You may go for many months without any symptoms and then have a sudden flare-up. It can also take many months for your symptoms to settle down.

Due to the embarrassment, pain, discomfort and inconvenience of IBS, many have feelings of depression and anxiety. Travelling, going to work, seeing friends becomes fraught with worry.

But help is close at hand

Extensive research has shown that Hypnotherapy is a very successful form of treatment for IBS. Many find the symptoms disappear while for others, their pain and distress is considerably reduced. This has been our experience with many clients at Mid Surrey Hypnotherapy where we use visualisation and other hypnotic methods to quieten the inner tensions and banish the distress of IBS *

You will find the relaxation of hypnotherapy is delightful, and you will be shown many different ways to use your own mind to ease your discomfort. What have you got to lose? Hypnotherapy is safe and gentle. Wouldn't you like to live your life the way it was meant to be?
