hypnotherapy for depression

Hypnotherapy and Depression

depressionDO YOU feel hopeless, helpless, drained of energy? Do you find it hard to muster the energy even to get out of bed and get dressed, things you did automatically before your depression?

Depression is not a problem of self-discipline. You cannot just "snap out of it" because depression can be due to chemical changes in the brain that slow you down and deprive you of energy. Beginning treatment may seem an arduous task - but making a decision to seek help is the vital first step.

ARE YOU unable to take pleasure in anything? Things you once enjoyed no longer give you pleasure. No taste for food, no desire for company.  Do you feel numb and worry that you will never feel alive again?

Take heart. Once you have decided to seek help, you can change . Anti-depressant medicine from your doctor is one way.  Another way is to access the power of your own unconscious mind with the aid of a sympathetic hypnotherapist

DO YOU keep going over and over things in your mind? Unhappy memories of the past - worrying decisions - anxious times ahead? Do these churning thoughts keep you awake at night?

Past traumatic events in your life such as bullying, abuse, bereavement, loss of income or status are one of the biggest causes of depression.  You cannot change these events but hypnotherapy can enable you to change the way you think and deal with them and break the vicious cycle of painful thoughts*

ARE YOU your own harshest critic? Do you feel so worthless that your life is not worth living?  Do you feel guilty for things you have done, or not done – or for no reason at all?

Your unconscious mind creates this negative painful image of rainbow of hope after depressionyourself. But in the relaxed state of hypnosis, suggestion and imagery allows your unconscious mind to bring about positive changes, helping you experience new freedom and control over your thoughts and moods and your life*

Sick and tired of feeling sick and tired?
Maybe the sooner you start treatment the better

The four questions on the left cover the primary symptoms of depression. If your answers indicate that you are depressed please get help. If you are already seeing your doctor, remember that hypnotherapy is a useful complementary therapy to medical care.

You are not alone. Just over one in ten women and just under one in ten men suffer from a depressive illness every year. One in five women will have a depressive episode at some time in their life

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is a well recognised and effective treatment for depression. I use CBT in conjunction with hypnotherapy to help the relief of depression and recent research has confirmed that CBT with hypnotherapy is more effective than CBT alone.
